How It Works

Buying a share gives you a part in co-owning Sunday. The once yearly buy-in charge for one share is $80, and a half share is $40. Each share will result in 1 gallon of unskimmed, fresh raw milk and up to a 5 gallon bucket of compostable manure, per week.

Once you have your share set up, the boarding fee for Sunday's care, maintenance, and materials, (things like alfalfa, minerals, and straw for her bedding) will be $70 monthly for a full share, and $35 monthly for a half share, due bi-annually or annually.  Paid bi-annually - $416 for full shares, $208 for half shares, or for the full year up front - $832 for a full share, $416 for half shares.  You can pay by Zelle, CashApp or cash.

This is you investing directly into your local farm to care for your cow instead paying into big box stores and chain production lines.

Pick up.

Together we will decide on the best day for you to pick up your share dividends, and you'll soon be taking home milk that is straight from your cow! Well, sort of.  We do chill it first, but it will be less than 24 hours old by the time you are scheduled to pick it up, here on the farm. We have a dedicated milk refrigerator with easy access, and your share will be conveniently marked with your name on a tag. Just return your clean, empty jar to the refrigerator and leave the tag in the bucket, and we will see you again the next week! If you forget to pick it up, don’t worry - you can come the following day for it, but beyond that please wait till the next week’s share.

Drink up.

Enjoy your milk! Drink it fresh and cold, make it into a creamy hot chocolate. Skim the cream for a delicious Bechamel sauce, or stir it into your favorite hot drink. Make mozzarella, yogurt, or cottage cheese. The possibilities are endless, and its all up to you. Your milk should stay fresh and good to drink for a whole week, easily, but do treat it with regular milk care - don’t leave it out to get warm, don’t drink straight from the jar, and make sure the lid is clean and securely closed.

(I’ve had unopened bottles stay sweet and fresh for two weeks in the back of the fridge, but trust your nose - if it smells slightly sour, use it in something like buttermilk biscuits or pancakes. It shouldn’t smell gross, but if it does, put it in your compost or throw it out.)
