Easy and Delicious Creamy Tomato Sauce
What to do with all the cream? Of course, you can just shake it in and drink the milk whole, but here’s a use that takes it from mainly breakfast fare, to a delicious dinner option.
This sauce was extremely easy to whip up. It took me only about 15 minutes, and my kids loved it. My husband highly approved, and I really liked it, too, so it is definitely a winner.
Ingredients
2 Tbs butter
2-3 Cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbs tomato paste
1 (14 fl oz) can tomato sauce
3/4 c heavy cream
1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan cheese
Melt the butter and saute the garlic for about a minute.
Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, cream, and spices. Whisk it together until its nice and smooth. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
Season with salt and pepper. I like to be generous with the salt, and if needed, add a pinch of sugar to balance the acidity.
Ready to eat! It is delicious as is, but you can also add a protein - oven baked chicken breasts was perfect for us. Shrimp, steak, even chickpeas for a vegetarian twist would be delicious. Toss some pasta in or serve beside rice, add some flat bread and a salad, and everyone will be happy.
